Good Evening Families- I hope that everyone is doing well. As mentioned during the Cross-Country EOS banquet, we will be hosting Winter Conditioning starting this January. I apologize for the confusion of the start week as I believe we initially intended to start this upcoming week, but we are going to have to start the Thursday of the week of Martin Luther King, Jr holiday. Here are the details: Winter Conditioning will run twice a week after school until 5:15PM. Mondays: Strength Thursdays: Neighborhood run (if conditions allow) *This may alternate depending on the weather and conditions, so kids should bring indoor and outdoor gear as we are going to try to be outside as much as we can. After school kids should change and meet in Coach Lowe's room. Pick up from conditioning will be in the bus lot. 6th Graders are welcome to join, and a coach will walk them over to FCJH. 6th grade participants need to be in the library and change quickly to make sure we can have the officers help us cross. Conditioning session will go from January through March 13th. Cancellations may occur if the "feels like" temperature drops below 20 degrees and we do not have space in the building to run. Keep in mind that priority space in the building goes to sports that are in season (boys' basketball, girls' basketball, wrestling, and cheerleading). Kids will be asked to get in additional on your own runs 2 or 3 times a week. Kids involved in other sports such as swimming, soccer, and lacrosse we will adjust accordingly after talks with coaches. Runs will be time based up to 40 minutes as the conditioning program progresses. The goal will be to get on the track once a month to complete a mile evaluation, so kids can see their improvements.
